Single-user licenses may be purchased online for $99/license. Some individuals may be eligible for a free license. Volume discounts are also available for orders of 5 or more licenses. Please see our pricing page for more details.
I just downloaded the program, what do I do now?
Check out the Quick Start Guide for guidance and tips on using Chrometa to track your time.
What does your software do?
Chrometa tracks and categorizes how you spend time on your computer, without the hassle of data entry. At the end of the day, week, or month, you can reference the timesheets Chrometa has recorded for you to revisit how you've spent your time.
What exactly does "No Data Entry" mean?
No data entry means you don't need to look at a clock and manually record the time you spent doing anything. You also don't have to click on any timers or stopwatches to notify the system when you've started or stopped working.
As an attorney, how can Chrometa improve my billing reconciliation and save me time?
If you're sick and tired of trying to recall work you've already done, Chrometa is here to ease your pain. Because Chrometa automatically captures all computer-based billable activity, it helps attorneys keep track of their time and, more importantly, it makes sure you and your firm get paid for every second of billable work performed.
How does it handle tracking while I multitask?
Chrometa captures time spent in active windows. So if your composing a document in Microsoft Word, we're capturing time in that activity. If you get interrupted and check an email and then return to the document, the timer for your document resumes where you left off.
Can I export the data?
Yes, you can export your data into Microsoft Excel by going to File -> Export to Excel.
Can I print my Chrometa logs
Yes, you will first need to export the data into Excel. From there, you can print.
What if I step away from my computer? Does the timer keep ticking?
Chrometa knows when your keyboard and mouse is idle. After a set idle timeout (an option that you can set), Chrometa pauses tracking of the current activity. Chrometa also pauses tracking when you close the lid of your laptop or hibernate your computer.
Will it fill up my hard drive?
Unlikely. Chrometa is super efficient about how it stores data. Generally speaking, the application requires only ~1MB to store a month's worth of data. To keep a 1-year archive of your work activities, that's only ~12MB.
Does it log my keystrokes?
Nope. Chrometa only captures information about which documents, applications, and URL you're working on. You can even specify which applications to block from our tracking engine.
Is my data private and secure?
Your data never leaves your computer, so that you can rest assured your data and privacy are protected. You can also password protect application access so that others cannot open Chrometa on your computer.
Can I control which programs it tracks?
Yes. You may specify which application Chrometa tracks and which is does not by using the "Block Application" (right click) feature in the main window. For example, if you prefer that Chrometa does not track your web activity, you may block "Firefox", "IE" and "Google Chrome" from being tracked.
Can I delete the data Chrometa collects on my workstation?
Absolutely. Deleting your private data is easy like clearing your web browser history. You can delete individual entries or clear all of your private data at once.
