About

We’re a tiny software company based in Sacramento that’s solving the age-old timekeeping dilemma for professionals who bill for time and expertise.

Our name (pronounced kro-met-uh), a combination of the words “Chrono” (The latin root for Time) and “Metadata” (data about data), affirms our mission to capture and make sense of time — everyone’s most valuable resource.

We love creating great software that makes time tracking less tedious, and makes you more productive.

To see how we do it, check out our time tracking software.

Who we are

Brett OwensBrett Owens:

When aspirations of playing in the NBA fell through after he sustained a fractured ankle senior year of college, Brett settled for the next best thing: taking ill-advised 3’s for Team B.O. in their 2009 rec league championship run.  When he’s not busy CEO’ing, Brett keeps the office in acceptable condition by serving as the janitor.

JP Ren:

If blog reading was a professional sport, JP would be the world record holder.  With the uncanny ability to find and read articles before they are even published, JP is on pace to become the first medically documented case of “information-junkie.”  He would have more time to contribute to this blog if he wasn’t so busy reading every other blog on the Internet.  Like Brett, JP has also injured his ankle. Fortunately reading doesn’t require ankle movement.

Brian TanBrian Tan:

Straight outta Detroit, Brian brings a no-nonsense attitude and blue-collar toughness that is equaled only by his devilishly good looks.  Had he been born 7 years earlier, Brian would probably be a washed up 90’s boy bad “star” by now.  Instead, Brian is a washed up collegiate athlete whose athletic career peaked in high school.  Despite being a superior athlete to Brett, Brian is regularly outplayed by him in basketball.

In his free time, Brian likes performing amazing feats of strength like ripping phone books in half.
